Sophie Cardona
Communication Strategist

Sophie Cardona is a multilingual communication and design professional with a diverse background that includes work in the private and non-profit sectors, multilateral organizations, governmental agencies and research institutions. Convinced that she wanted to dedicate her future to promoting global sustainable economic and social development, Sophie recently completed her MA in International Relations with a specialization in economic development and emerging markets from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

In 2006, Sophie joined INFORM to pursue a new career promoting sustainable development in the context of an environmental organization. She brings a cross-cultural perspective to problem-solving and specializes in making connections between economic, political and social forces.

As INFORM’s Communication Specialist, Sophie ensures the integration of the organization’s internal and external communications efforts and devises creative approaches to expressing the organization’s mission. She is well-versed in branding and strategic communications, in content development for the web and print materials, and in translating concepts in visual form. Her previous experience in the world of design and corporate communications has equipped her to develop meaningful communication tools that draw attention to INFORM’s values and deepen the impact of its work. Sophie holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from Barnard College, and an Associates degree from The Parsons School of Design. She is fluent in French and Spanish, and highly proficient in Italian and Portuguese.
