Communications/Development Intern Responsibilities:
• Work with staff to build rapport with green urban companies and organizations.
• Continually update "Products and Services" links List by finding/researching new sustainable products and eco-friendly companies
• Reach out to sustainable companies and offer website link exchange, product promotion in exchange for donations, and networking.
• Maintain Inform networking profiles: MySpace, Twitter, Facebook Fan page, Group, and Causes page: Add updates and news. Continue to broaden reach.
• Brainstorm fundraising ideas (ex: cell phone collection, dvd sales, Amazon associates program, etc).
• Correspond with various organizations that host film festivals (particularly environmental/social) and apply to be screened.
Environmental/Research Intern:
• Work with staff on current projects, such as PSAs, video pre-production, website content, etc.
• Update RSS Feed (Delicious) with newsworthy articles about environmental topics (electronic waste, chemical hazards, cell phones, recycling, paper, beef, etc)
• Brainstorm article and profile topics for semi-monthly e-bulletins (These can be for companies, environmental issues, progressive people, etc).
• Continually update "Products and Services" links List by finding/researching new sustainable products and eco-friendly companies
• Compile/update quick sheets on our video topics (ie: newer legislation, updated resources, product recommendations, etc) to help Inform our public.
Video/Web Intern
• Find viable sites and videos for "Recommended links" section of website.
• Update sustainable products and services section by researching new and growing companies/products.
• Work with staff to create content for Inform's video section/blog
• Develop informative posters, flyers, and cards to coincide with various Inform projects
• Work with staff/interns to broaden Inform's reach on the web and via strategic media outreach.
