The Secret Life of Beef
The Secret Life of Beef, the third video in the Secret Life series, will show the high environmental cost of cheap beef. Americans consume just over 28 billion pounds of beef a year, one of the highest per capita rates in the world, yet few beef eaters are aware of the connection between their dietary choices and global warming.
The Secret Life of Beef will point out the environmental impact of industrial livestock production and alert viewers to changes they can make in their own lives to minimize the damage. Specifically, it will:
- Spell out how resource and energy intensive livestock production is
- Quantify the impact of industrial agriculture on global warming
- Visit a sustainable livestock farm
- Urge viewers to combat global warming by reducing their beef consumption
The Secret Life of Beef will be available in December, 2009.
