One of the best parts about Goodman furnaces is that they come with built-in trouble code that utilizes various flashing LED lights to inform you of some problems. Even if it’s helpful, you still have to troubleshoot the unit to identify the problem correctly.

For example, Goodman furnace red light blinking three-times will warn about a problem on the pressure switch circuitry. It’s mandatory to troubleshoot the switch to identify what’s causing the issue. Here are the steps to take when you notice Goodman furnace three flashes:

Step 1

It would help if you began by disconnecting the electrical power from the furnace. It’s not complicated to do it, and turning it off from the breaker panel is the solution.

Step 2

Continue with taking out the screws that keep the front panel in place onto the furnace. Carefully put the board to the side.

Step 3

Try to identify the pressure switch tubing that connects the induced draft blower and the furnace. It’s a black tubing with great flexibility.

Step 4

You will have to pull the tubing from the blower, tracing it to the pressure switch. Take the tubing from the pressure switch too.

Step 5

It would help if you got rid of any dirt or debris collected inside the tube, and you should do it by blowing the tubing out. Reconnect the tubing to the blower and the switch when you’re done.

Also, don’t forget to look at the switch’s electrical wires; any lousy connection could cause problems. When the cables aren’t safely plugged into the switch, you need to press them until they’re completely connected.
